UPDATE: The previous pricing in this post was incorrect and based on old information. I have updated it to be consistent with the pricing on the photoact 2012 web site. It's still true, however, that you should register before June 1 for the best price.
This is a reminder to one and all that I will be one of the featured speakers at photoact 2012, a photo conference and workshop series that will take place August 24th and 25th in sunny Santa Barbara, California. The sponsor is photo book publisher Rocky Nook, which is headquartered in Santa Barbara, hence the excellent location.
I'll be doing a presentation on how to improve and get more artistic satisfaction from your street photography. Other presenters include fine art photographer and author Bruce Barnbaum, digital photography innovator Ban Burkholder, fine art photographer Uwe Steinmueller of Digital Outback fame, and photographer/environmentalist/portraitist J. Henry Fair. There are six others as well, so be sure to check out the full list.
For what it's worth, the panel discussion on the last day will feature some guy named Ken Rockwell. I've never heard of him but hear he's quite popular among a certain set. (Warning: The previous statement was not meant to be taken seriously.)
Aside from Santa Barbara being a wonderful place to hang out for a couple of days in August, the prices are quite reasonable. A single workshop is $125. The speaker series is $395. The speaker series plus one workshop is $495.00.
Keep in mind that these prices apply only if you register before June 1, 2012. If you register after June 1, workshops increase to $145, and the speaker series increases to $435.00. If you have any questions, want more information, or want to register, you can e-mail devon@rockynook.com, phone 905-687-2208, or visit www.rockynook.com/photoact2012. I hope to see you there. Better yet, bring a friend.
